Chelsea have officially confirmed that they are acquiring Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho on a season-long loan. Throughout trade deadline day, the Blues were prominently connected with a move for the England international. With the presumption earlier this month that Raheem Sterling would have to leave in the opposite direction.
Despite the fact that it was confirmed on Friday that the 29-year-old would be joining Arsenal, Chelsea were able to persist with a move for Sancho. Despite submitting a Premier League registration request before the deadline of 11 p.m. on Friday, no formal news about a signing followed. Nonetheless, soon after 7.30pm, BST, on Saturday evening, the 24-year-old was spotted in a Chelsea shirt, with the West Londoners admitting that they had an obligation to buy the player next summer.

Sancho discusses the Chelsea move
After a successful loan spell with Borussia Dortmund, Sancho has had a trying year at United after falling out of favour with Erik ten Hag. Despite reconciling with the Dutchman, the forward was left out of the initial two Premier League squads, which prompted his exit.
Sancho remains confident in his ability to make an impact under Enzo Maresca, having stated that he believes he was signed to capitalize on his strengths. According to the club’s official website, “They’re signing me for an explanation and to help the team, and I’m prepared to do so.” “I like his style of play. When the wingers get the ball, he want them to play one-on-one and be direct. We play a lot of one-twos with the 10s and strikers. It’s incredibly appealing, and it’s the way I play.” He went on: “He spoke to me on the phone about this project and what he was building here, and for a young player like myself it’s exciting and I can’t wait to get started.”
